There's some kids that pose and smile the minute they see a camera pointed in their direction. And than there's others that rather play a round of chase instead of standing for a picture. Max just happens to be one of those kiddos. Energetic, silly, and always running somewhere. He definitely makes me work for a smile or a glance but when I do get the shots, they never disappoint.

Lights of Hope Auction

Every year EOR (http://www.ethiopianorphanrelief.org/) put on an amazing benefit auction called Lights of Hope in Portland, Oregon. Together with 200ish generous people, they raise funds that support current and future projects in Ethiopia. The past seven years I've been honored to document such an incredible event and follow along in the work that is being done for the orphans of Ethiopia. Happy 1st Birthday Sage

My mom reminds me on a weekly basis that she wants a redheaded grandchild from her redheaded daughter (that would be me). I've said it before and I'll say it again, Miss Sage could pass as my child, no problem. Those ginger curls, porcelain skin and cute little front teeth just melt me. You can't look at that smile and not smile back. Happy first birthday Miss Sage!

Johnston Family

Social media is a funny thing. You follow peoples lives through pictures or words and if/when you finally meet them in person, you feel like you already know them. That's exactly how I felt meeting Aubrey and her family in Spokane the other weekend. We met up at the Gaiser Conservatory greenhouse at Manito Park for a "warm" session indoors before braving the cold outside.

Little Gideon made me work for a smile but was an absolute cutie! I enjoyed our session together and was so honored to be the first to take their first family pictures as a family of 3!

Kenya Fundraiser/ Morgan

"A friend of a friend referred me to you!" I love those types of clients! Morgan needed some up to date images for her portfolio and I was happy to help. Her sweet personality, crystal blue eyes, and  blonde locks made it easy to get some beautiful natural looking shots that weren't over the top with makeup or clothing but more everyday her.
